Individualized One to One treatment sessions that focus on the child’s strengths and needs.  Families are encouraged to be a part of the journey with their child by collaborating with Jennifer to build home programs to promote carryover of learned skills into their daily lives with their families.

Evidence-based therapy with practical, proven strategies from a Speech-language Pathologist

The speech-language pathologist will interact, “play” with the child in purpose and goal driven “play” to make the skills relevant to their interests. The clinician will discuss the skills and strategies used in the sessions to help the parent use the same techniques at home to promote continued learning in their daily lives. In early language development, children learn language through everyday experiences, many of which are developed through play. Play allows for children to to choose toys and games that are enjoyable for them, thus they ar more motivated and engaged, which leads to great outcomes.

The Process

Free Consultation

I will sit down with you, virtually or over the phone, for a conversation about your child. What are your concerns? What are your goals for your child? What would your ideal outcome be from our time together? Based on this conversation, we will decide if an evaluation is an appropriate next step.
I will give you some pointers of how to talk to your child about the evaluation to give them an idea of what to expect.  You may be asked to join some or all of the evaluation process depending on the comfort level of both you and your child.

This will include gathering information from the family, clinical observations, and use of standardized and non-standardized assessment tools. I will complete a thorough, evidence-based evaluation for your child.

At the end of the session, I will provide general impressions and have a good idea if/what treatment is warranted. I will then contact you within 5 business days with a complete written report. We can go over the report results via phone or video chat and discuss recommended therapy options and the proposed plan of care outlining the recommendations from the evaluation information.

Once we have reviewed recommended therapy options and decided on a schedule, the fun really begins— therapy sessions! All of my speech and language therapy sessions are embedded with lots of play that feel natural to the child, and are designed to involve you as the parent, as well! I want your child to love their therapy time, and I want you to feel confident and excited to carry over skills, too! Your child’s job right now is to play and interact with family and friends so play therapy is used to incorporate communication skills in activities that they already do in their day. It makes therapy fun and easier for family members to use during their own play time with their child.
